Amber Shine was born in Paris and trained at the Conservatoire de Paris, where she honed her skills as a classical pianist and flutist. In her early career, she toured across Europe and collaborated with contemporary composers, gaining recognition for her expressive style and thoughtful interpretations. Over time, her musical interests expanded to include jazz, minimalism, and ambient music.

A visit to Hawaii in 2005 turned into a permanent move, drawn by the islands’ natural beauty and musical spirit. Now based on Honolulu, Amber teaches piano, improvisation, and composition from her home studio, where students from around the Pacific come to learn in a peaceful, creative setting. 

Amber’s teaching style is both structured and exploratory. She emphasizes strong fundamentals while encouraging students to follow their instincts and develop their own voice. Though far from her Parisian roots, she continues to blend European technique with island-inspired creativity in everything she teaches and plays.
